Everyone experiences emotional distress in their lives which can become overwhelming at times. This distress may be due to a variety of factors including life situations, trauma, grief and loss or mental illness. Sometimes when a person is feeling emotionally overwhelmed they may experience depression, anxiety, fear, and thoughts of self-harm. I believe people can recover from these symptoms. I work with my clients to develop a plan for healing and relief from symptoms. I employ an eclectic approach which may include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and eye movement desensitization reprocessing.
